Lorena {Chattanooga tween photographer}

May 5th, 2010

This was a fun mini-session marking Lorena’s 5th grade graduation.  I think her mom is wise in documenting this memorable time in her daughter’s life.  So often this age gets passed by with few pictures to remember it.

Rena was a natural in front of the camera.   Isn’t she beautiful?

Rena, enjoy middle school (after a fun-filled summer, that is)!  I had a lot of fun today!

Andrew & Evan {Chattanooga photographer}

May 4th, 2010

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to take pictures of these cute brothers!

I was informed by their mom that I may have a hard time getting Andrew to smile. I love a good challenge! :)

This is the face you might get if you tell the child that you have a waffle in your camera (we were talking about the Wiggles)!

Ok, so apparently waffles aren’t funny! But who can resist BUBBLES!?!

BINGO!

I had no troubles at all getting smiles out of his little brother.  Isn’t he a doll???

A few shots with Nana!  I love these!

This was a really fun session!  2 cute, fun loving little boys and a kind, laid-back mom…it’s a recipe for a successful session.  I leave you with one more great smile!  By the end we were having a great time!

Meredith is 1 {Chattanooga baby photographer}

March 29th, 2010

This was a fun mini-session marking a one-year birthday.  Meredith is oh-so-cute and I could hardly wait for her to model my new yellow headband.  I had been waiting for the perfect little model.

Don’t you just love these rainbow leg warmers?  And that smile couldn’t be any cuter!

Happy First Birthday Meredith!!!

Mini-session previews {Chattanooga family photographer}

December 31st, 2009

THANK YOU to all of my clients for making this first annual Christmas mini-session event a big success.  I appreciate each and every one of you!

Although I had many requests to have the mini-session sneak peeks put on Facebook and my website before Christmas, I decided to wait until afterwards so that all of those using them for Christmas cards and gifts would not have their surprises spoiled.

So grab a cup of coffee and sit back.  I had many families and just couldn’t narrow it down much more.

Thanks again everyone!  I hope you all have a Happy New Year!

Meet Mattie.  Mattie is a beautiful 6 year old little girl with blonde hair and blue eyes.  Both she and my daughter are in the same first grade class.

On October 28, 2009 Mattie was diagnosed with Pre B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Here is a segment that her father wrote on her CaringBridge page:  “We went to Disney world on the 14th of October and Mattie was running a fever with no other symptoms.  She was getting her back molars, so we thought the fever was probably related to cutting teeth.  Her fever continued, but responded to Tylenol and again had no other complaints.  When we got back, her fever persisted and we took her to her pediatrician and they felt like she just had a fever virus.  All of her blood work looked fine.  The fever stayed on and we went back to the doctor and they did a chest x-ray and more blood work with all tests coming back negative.  Then they tested for mono and a couple of other mono related diseases and again, nothing.  On Tuesday, the 26th of October, she was feeling much better and Luanne called the doctors and asked if it was all right for her to return to school the next day.  They said it would be fine, but that they wanted to check her blood again sometime during the week.  Luanne decided to go ahead and get it done, so they went straight over.  This time her white blood cell count was out of whack and they sent us to T.C. Thompson’s Children’s Hospital for further blood tests.  Those tests showed cause for concern and she was scheduled for a bone marrow test the next morning at 8:00 a.m.  Unfortunately, the bone marrow tests showed that she had Pre B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, or ALL.  She was admitted to the hospital right immediately and scheduled to begin chemotherapy on Monday, November 2, 2009.  The good news is that we have caught it early, and it is a very curable type of leukemia, the bad news is that she has 26 months of chemotherapy ahead of her.  Please keep our precious little girl in your prayers as begins this long journey.”

As a parent, I can’t imagine receiving such heartbreaking news.  I am humbled and honored I was asked to take pictures of Mattie before she began her treatments.

Please keep Mattie and the Ballentine family in your prayers as they go through this difficult time.  And please take the time to join the Facebook group that Mattie’s dad started,
“100,000 join Mattie’s Mission to Beat Leukemia”
.  They have had over 4,600 people join, many of whom they have never even met!  He specifically told me it is such an encouragement to Mattie and her family.  So please, click on the link and join this group!  It would mean so much to the family!

Just one minute of your time will mean the world to this little girl.

Mattie, we are praying for you!

Love,

Pleasant

The Clanton family {Chattanooga family/child photographer}

November 11th, 2009

Meet the Clanton family! They are such a cute family! I was able to meet with them during their whirlwind visit to Chattanooga, where they will be relocating soon. They had a rough morning which consisted of locking their keys in their car and leaving half of the families good shoes in the locked car. The kids were slightly tired, running on a small amount of sleep from their late drive the night before. In spite of those things, I think they did a superb job of looking all pulled together. Colin & Stephanie were so laid back…I love that quality in parents!

Cute, huh?
